CNN awards West Virginia - and its 5 electoral votes - to Mitt Romney. While polls are closed in North Carolina and Ohio, the race in those states is too close to call.

First exit polls out of Virginia show a 49%-49% dead heat. This is a "must win" state for Romney. Polls also show African American turnout higher than 2008.

Of course, exit polls are just that: polls. Not exact reflections of the electorate. Then again, given all the problems and long lines, the actual election returns may not be accurate reflections, either.

Exit polls show Obama narrowly up in Florida. This is a state Romney must carry. Romney also trails in New Hampshire and New Jersey, as well as Pennsylvannia, which Romney camp hoped was in play.
